Exhibits
Every few moons, we explore a new unknown. These exhibits are collaborations with individuals and organizations leading efforts related to the art or act of writing by hand. From solo-shows to interactive exhibits, these collaborations have taken us around the world. We hope these unique experiences will prompt you toward the page, instrument in hand. Our past exhibit, "The Meat Diaries," is an interactive memoir featuring a raw and rare look into the experience of working in the Oscar Mayer meatpacking facility in Madison, Wisconsin: three palm-sized notebooks that internationally bestselling author Nickolas Butler kept while he worked there for eight months. While this exhibit points to the past — Nick worked there in 2003/2004 — it speaks directly to the present: at a time when Industrial America is being promised returns on capital, as well as ways of life, facilities like this one are shutting their doors, leaving the neighborhoods that grew up around them for over 100 years now wondering about their future.
Last Exhibit: "The Meat Diaries," an interactive memoir featuring bestselling author Nickolas Butler's experience working in an Oscar Mayer factory in Madison, WI.
